Snow Strippers' "Just Your Doll" Is a Haunting Electric Nod to the Myspace Era

Ahead of their forthcoming EP Night Killaz Vol 1, Snow Strippers release the evocative single “Just Your Doll,” a whirlwind of a dance track that electrocutes from within.

The Detroit duo, consisting of Tatiana Schwaninger and Graham Perez, have taken on the grave honor of forwarding a genre that’s succumbed to the triumph of pop and captionable one-liners. An eclectic mash of boisterous sound all at once, Snow Strippers are honoring the true roots of electronic sleaze. Trashy dance punk is a lost religion, and Snow Strippers are building an impenetrable temple.

The single “Just Your Doll” was released alongside a video that nods to the golden age of rave, when we were nothing but point-and-shoot mirror selfies and Myspace forum posts. The found footage horror video only emphasizes the haunting blare of the track, gaining them comparisons to baton-passing acts like Crystal Castles.

From Berlin to Los Angeles, Snow Strippers' sonically explosive niche has earned them a sold-out tour and internet notoriety, though they certainly won’t be the kid’s best-kept secret for long. Set to release November 24, Night Killaz Vol 1 will only scream their name louder in more rooms. With their foot on the gas and inhibitions in the rearview, we’re all humbly at the mercy of Snow Strippers.
