Often, the most painful part of a breakup is taking accountability for how you pulled on its threads, and SAHRA's latest single âCome With Meâ is a tragic firsthand account.
With a haunting yet sensual charm, the London-based artistâs icy vocals still somehow feel warm. Produced by Slim Typical, âCome With Meâ is a beautiful display of SAHRA's poetic storytelling ability, with chilling lines like âWeâre falling apart trying to make diamonds with dust / Tearing apart at the seams, nothingâs enough.â
Itâs a single you just want to melt into, yet the raw nature of its lyrics arenât the most comfortable to lay in. Luckily, theyâre not supposed to be. A part-time singing teacher at the prestigious Trinity Laban College, artistic integrity seems to be held in high regard for SAHRA, and you can tell she really dug into the crevices of her truth on this track.
Alongside this single comes the announcement of her upcoming EP Stolen Moments, slated for release in late July. Itâs a collection of odes to the varying degrees love scorns us, sealed with a feature from fellow London native, Bawo. Funded by PRS Foundationâs Women Make Music Fund, sheâs been fertile with music since childhood, but this project is sure to leave its mark.
Love can be too easily suffocated if your grip is tight, and âCome With Meâ makes even the death rattle of it sound delicious. SAHRA is an honest artist, and with an essence that speaks to Sade and Jorja Smith, she is one of the more promising rising R&B songstresses youâll want to keep on your radar.
